If you cook or know a cook, this flower pot recipe holder makes an endearing gift and a cute way to hold favorite recipes. It's a fun kids' craft that makes a good present for Mother's Day.
What you'll need:
- 3" Flower pot
- Moss
- Small flowers, 5-8 for each
- 1 Plastic fork for each
- Plaster of Paris
How to make it:
- Spray paint the pot, or leave it plain.
- Mix the plaster according to the directions on the box. Let it set for a bit and cover the table ( if your plaster is to runny it will leak out of the hole in the bottom).
- When it's stiff (but still runny enough ) pour into the pot.
- Put in a small batch of moss and poke in the flowers.
- Then put the fork in the middle of this.
- Let the plaster dry for about 6-12 hours.
Notes:
We were at a loss for Mother's Day at our church. I teach 1st and 2nd grade and I love to do crafts so I was appointed the craft for that month. Well, as I was at Joanne's Fabric I spotted a small flower pot -- it was 3" and they were only .39 cents -- that got my brain rolling.
I picked up about 25 of these then a bag of moss and some small flowers I choose roses of different colors, and a box of plaster of Paris. The lady at the check out couldn't keep herself from asking what I intended to do with this. So, I had to tell her. She wanted to make some for herself.
When I got home I got out my plastic forks from the camper and my hubby just shook his head, he didn't even want to ask.
I had to try a couple of these first to make sure they worked.
