Kids can customize their rooms with this cool Shrinky dink mobile craft. They'll have fun making a mobile that matches their interests--they can even use wallpaper or bed sheets as a pattern.

What you'll need:

  • Shrinky Dinks shrinkable plastics
  • Wallpaper or border, or sheets to use as a pattern
  • Colored pencils
  • Hole punch
  • Scissors
  • Clear plastic thread or fishing line
  • Use of an oven

How to make it:

Remember that Shrinky Dinks shrink a lot! Be sure to trace a large design!
  1. We traced my son's sheets as the edge pattern of the sheet was bigger than the wallpaper border.
  2. We colored in the designs and cut around the outside of the designs.
  3. Next hole punch two holes in the top of the main design. Hole punch on the bottom of the main design for each piece that you will hang from it.
  4. Hole punch the top of each additional piece. If you are going to have another piece hanging from it, be sure to hole punch the bottom of the design.
  5. Follow the manufacturer's directions for baking the plastic. Note: This should be done by an adult!
  6. Let cool completely.
  7. Thread with the plastic thread and hang in your room.
