Description:

Children play along with some of their favorite LittleFingers characters (and a few new ones) while learning the phonic approach to early reading skills. This program is broken down into four multi-part lessons.

  • Lesson 1: Pre-reading fun with Wilbur Worm. Covers matching objects to objects, recognizing differences, similarities, matching upper case to lower case letters of the alphabet.
  • Lesson 2: Checkers the Bear will introduce your child to the phonetic letter sounds, and your child will begin to recognize the letters of the alphabet as sounds rather than letter names.
  • Lesson 3: Chelsea's Alphabet Song - sing along with Chelsea the Bear and reinforce phonic skills!
  • Lesson 4: Sound out small words by matching the written word to the object on the screen with Wilma Worm.

Be sure to read the "Must Read!" file that comes with this program. It contains important information about program setup options, as well as suggestions for the use of the program to insure that your child's early reading experience is a rewarding one. To get the most out of the program, parental participation is recommended.

This program has a 20 day evaluation period before requiring registration. More screen shots can be viewed at the Little Fingers site.
