GUESSWORDS resembles the game of MasterMind, except it uses five-letter words instead of colored pegs. Play against the computer or a friend by clicking on 'Person picks' or 'Mac picks'. Your opponent picks a 5 letter word. A person types it in or the computer selects from a list of 180 words.

Make repeated guesses of 5 letter words and the computer will tell you the number of letters that appear in the secret word. Duplicate letters are only counted once - guess 'toast' for secret word 'touch' and the feedback will be 2 matches. You have 15 attempts to guess before the computer reveals the secret word. Use the 'Include' and 'Eliminate' lists to organize the letters, if you find them useful.
