Description:
KALEIDOTILE Use KaleidoTile to create tessellations of the sphere, Euclidean plane and hyperbolic plane. The tessellations are dynamic: move a "basepoint" to smoothly transform, say, a dodecahedron into an icosahedron. All tessellations may be freely rotated or translated, giving a sense of realism and fluidity. Depending on whether the angles of a basic triangular tile sum to more or less than 180 degrees, obtain a tiling of the sphere, Euclidean plane or hyperbolic plane. A Step Mode feature shows how the tiling is built up by reflecting the basic triangle in its own sides. Tilings may be viewed with flat faces (e.g. an octahedron) or curved faces, e.g. an octahedral tiling of a sphere by 90-90-90 spherical triangles. KaleidoTile is intended for grades 9 and up, but is also interesting for younger ages - the 3D shape can be rotated for different viewpoints, and can be easily changed by moving the basepoint at the side. It gives a great sense of 3D figures and is more fun than a kaleidoscope! Download Details Requires: Download Sites: [ HELP! I can't download! ] | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
