MOLECULES-3D TEST DRIVE

Click on Tools and use the 3D Builder tool to create a 3D molecular structure comprised of atoms and bonds. Select a combination of an Atom Building Block and an Element symbol from the 3D Builder Palette. That is, specify an element and its valence geometry.

The initial atom is placed in the center of the work area. Then select the Atom Tool / Element symbol combination desired and click on an open valence in the work area. Building a structure in this manner is much like building a model with a plastic model building kit.

When a structure has been built, exit the 3D Builder (using the File Exit command) and the new structure is placed automatically in the Molecules-3D window. Click on Window and Help for detailed explanations of the tools.
