QUANDARY

This is an application for creating a Web-based Action Maze. It presents a situation and a number of choices as to a course of action to deal with it. On choosing one of the options, the resulting situation is then presented, again with a set of options.

Action mazes can be used for many purposes, including problem-solving, surveys and interactive adventures. Look at some Examples to see what can be done with them. The download allows small mazes only - larger ones can be developed after registration.

Start with the Tutorial. Then create the first decision point by entering its title and description. Click on 'New link', and select 'Create new decision point' (pick a decision point for a link before entering its text or the text will be overwritten). When you have created links to all the decision points leading off the initial situation, click on the right arrow to move to the next decision point, and then start filling in the content and links for that one.

Pictures and Internet links can be included on the pages. When the Action Maze is complete, save the file, set options like color scheme, and write an introduction. Then click on File / Export to HTML, and let the program create Web pages. Quandary is easy to use and a great resource for building interactive stories to go on a website.
