SUSAN is a board game with simple rules, but is trickier to play than one would think. Two players take turns placing stones on a board. If a stone gets surrounded by any combination of other stones, the game is over, and the player owning the surrounded stone loses. You can play with 2 human players, play against the computer, or watch the computer play itself. It comes with two more graphic options, one conservative, and one very wild.

SUSAN includes intelligent computer opponents that learn by playing. After every game, your opponent will evaluate what you each did right and wrong. In this way it can learn and improve from game to game. Because an opponent learns everything it knows from you, intelligence files record your playing style and techniques. This means that your opponents are always near your skill level.
