WHICH NUMBER IS INCREASING? is a maths game designed to help teach number pattern recognition skills and promote 'number sense'. It helps students to develop their 'observational math' skills and promotes mathematical conversations between students and their parents or teachers.

The screen shows 6 different boxes. Each box contains a number that is increasing at a constant rate. Answer the question 'which is increasing by 2's or 5's or 10's?'. Change the speed of progression of the numbers using the speed control bar. A 'boing' sound indicates an error. Encouraging comments (in a voice like Donald Duck's) reward a correct answer.

The game concept is unusual - its intent is to introduce multiplication to early elementary school students before they have learned the times table, and to create a ramp between skip counting and multiplication skills. It's also fun to play!
