WHOLE NUMBER ARITHMETIC DEMO teaches how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers. It provides a system for testing and placement at the right skill level, tutoring, and practice solving randomly generated problems - both at the computer, and with printed homework assignments to be checked by the program.

There are 52 levels of difficulty, starting with basic facts, progressing through skills requiring regrouping, and ending with complex long division. Progress reports are kept and can be printed. Options include having the program show where to place numbers, displaying all the work in a solution, and a grid on the screen for visual help with number placement.

In the demo version all functions are available for addition, including printing of worksheets. Functions are limited for the other operations, for example only one problem is presented in Practice sessions, progress records are not saved, and worksheets cannot be printed.

Ages 6 up

This is very well done for whole number math drills - the demo provides full function for addition and shows what is available in the full program for subtraction, multiplication and division.
