This program is designed to be used in the science class as an educational enhancement (a site license would be required) to be used by all students. However it can just as easily be used at home for study or to improve your science skills. Atoms, Bonding and Structure comes with eight teaching units: Unit 1 - Elements, Compounds and Mixtures; Unit 2 - Forming Compounds, Unit 3 - Atomic Structure, Unit 4 - Chemical Bonds, Unit 5 - Ionic Bonding, Unit 6 - Covalent Bonding, Unit 7 - Structure of Materials, Unit 8 - Bond Energies.

Plus a reference section: Simple Periodic Table, Periodic Table, Atom Builder, Ionic Bonding, Covalent Bonding, Bond Energy Calculator.

Each unit will teach and test students as they learn through examples to help reinforce general chemical knowledge, and with frequent reference to the online Periodic Tables. You have the option to set the program in two ways. You can have the right answer to a questions after 3 consecutive wrong attempts or you can "trap" the user within a unit once they have started (to help teachers ensure that students stay on task), with a code required to exit. The program keeps score of right and wrong answers for each unit, to display your score click the right mouse button. You will be presented with a certificate at the end of each unit with your score.

Two icons displayed on the screen are there to assist you ("notebook" and "i"), the notebook allows you take notes for later reference and the i, will give you hints and background information.
