Description:

FALLING INTO A BLACK HOLE

Exploring black holes from a safe distance is one of the jobs of the international Space Very Long Baseline Interferometry Program (SVLBI). Astronomers will study the farthest and most mysterious objects in the universe - objects such as quasars, neutron stars, supernovae, and black holes.

Take an imaginary trip to a black hole by downloading and playing the board game 'Falling into a Black Hole: A Space VLBI Intergalactic Adventure'. This is a game for 2 to 4 players. The game board covers six pages which need to be taped together. Be sure to set your printer to print Landscape, not Portrait.

Download the game board (in color or black and white) and the rules, Adventure Cards, Antigravity Tokens, and player markers. This game is a bit like an intergalactic Snakes and Ladders (the adventure cards send players all over the board), except that you also need to collect enough Antigravity Tokens to get through the black hole. The game is simple but younger kids would need help with the words on the adventure cards.

This is a fun (and free) board game. Fall into a black hole, and then try to learn about some of the space technology mentioned in the game!
