Description:

The Geoguide Lesson Plan was prepared by National Geographic's Geography Education Program. It discusses the role of geography in the tiger's survival in the wild, and in particular the loss of tiger habitat.

In 'Tiger Travels', plan a trip to Asia to see tigers in the wild. Choose a destination amongst 6 national parks, and be prepared to answer questions about the journey. Explore art, literature, folklore and popular culture in 'Tiger Bingo', to learn what parts a tiger plays. Suggestions are made for follow-up discussion, including the old Malay saying 'The tiger dies but his stripes remain'.
