Teaching children to read can and should begin at a very early age and using Early Reader has made this easier for you as a parent to accomplish. You begin by adding ordinary everyday words to the word list such as Mom, Dad etc. then recording your voice saying the words. The children will then be presented with a screen with one word displayed at a time. Then depending on how you customized the setup the child can scroll through the list by moving the mouse, clicking the mouse, pressing the keyboard or set on time delay. As your child progresses add bigger words, phases and sentences in to categories and before you know it your child is reading. The program does not come with any flashy graphics or bells and whistles it is a rather plain program that does a very important job with no distractions. The start up screen may be altered with different backgrounds to add variety and the main screen has the option of changing the background color and text size and color. The program comes with a great help file, taking you step by step through the setup process after you have loaded the program. Note: The trial version only allows 15 words to be added.
