PHONICS BASED READING teaches fundamental reading skills to young children. The demo explains all the games and exercises available in the product, and includes 4 interactive games with a subset of the activities from the product version. They are simple to use and handle errors very gently! Level 1 has 2 demos. 'Sort bdp' involves doing just that, sorting letters and words that include b, d and p into 2 buckets. This is not very engaging but good practice for kids who have trouble distinguishing these letters. The next demo at this level is 'Consonant Castle'. Complete words by adding the right consonant, e.g. 'd' to '-og'. A castle is built with progress - dragon, flag and all. The demo at level 2 is 'Score' and it works on long and short vowels. Add 'u' and 'e' to 'p-r-' and the ball scores in the basketball net. Level 3 has Pirate Ship. Help the pirate throw coins into his chest, by completing words, e.g. 'ee' to 'bl_d'. In a second part of Pirate Ship, match spoken words to those on the screen quickly or the shark will eat the coins. Before downloading, a form needs to be filled in, including name, phone number and e-mail address - the form states that the information will not be shared with other organisations.
