STUDENT EJOURNAL DEMO is an online version of a hand-written journal (only eJournal is more legible, and has spell-checking). It also lets writers attach pictures, sounds and movies to augment their journal entries.

Students may choose the border color and the text color. They may have their work read back to them. Journals are password-protected (the demo's password is 'demo'). There is a Journal Writer's Tip Sheet explaining the features (in PDF format). There's also an assessment component in the full version. Teachers cannot edit journal entries, but can add notes (either as text or as sounds). Peers (if the writer chooses) may read entries and also add notes. All or part of a journal can be printed.

It is necessary to fill in a form before downloading the demo. The demo includes a journal with sample entries - add up to three more entries. To do this, click on Page and then New Page. Then pick an assignment from the list and start writing.
