Remind children that there is more than one possible solution to a problem. Say: "What seems to be the problem? Let’s think of some ways to solve this problem. What ideas do you have?" |

When a child is having trouble with something, acknowledge the child’s feelings of frustration. Say: "You really want to do this by yourself, don’t you? Everyone feels that way sometimes. Some jobs are just too much for one person. How can I help?"
