Ytrap Sdrawkcab is a Backwards Party. The idea is to do everything backwards!

Send a custom made birthday invitation that is printed backwards so that the recepient must hold it up to a mirror to read the invitation. You will find one on our coloring/cards page. Invite the guests to come dressed with their clothes on backwards! Buy (or write with icing) the candy letters for cakes and write "yadhtrib yppah". Greet your incoming guests with "Thank you for coming to my birthday party. Please come again! Bye!" Open presents first (maybe even have little token gifts for the guests to open up) |
Slice your cake, serve it to the guests, then put a candle on a single piece...light it and sing "You to Birthday Happy" (Happy Birthday to You backwards!). Note: If the guests are old enough to read, you may wish to type up and print out the words to make it easier to sing.
Play your games BACKWARDS! If giving prizes, give the prize out to each child BEFORE playing the game and say "Everybody clap Tony did such a good job!"...then let them play the games...backwards of course!
- Un-Musical Chairs - Let the children walk around the chairs...then when you START the music, everyone jumps into a chair!
- Turn the bean bag toss around backwards and throw in through the back side (which could be interesting if there is something holding the board up and it's in the way!)...or turn the child facing away from the bean bag toss and have them throw it behind their back.
When your guests leave, be sure to say "Hello! I'm so glad you were able to make it! Do come in!"
