Nancy has been updated for teens in a new series of books entitled Case Files, which feature a modernized Nancy and friends (but she's still rich, and still has lots of leisure time). These books often feature murders, as well as other crimes, so don't be surprised at the fact that Nancy is called upon to solve a murder at a high school, in Nancy Drew: Secrets can Kill. Nancy must infiltrate the local high school as a student in this first person adventure, in order to solve the murder. By searching tirelessly for clues, talking to different students, and figuring out tons of puzzles, players will enjoy many hours of immersive play as they discover 'whodunit'! Features:
Technical AspectsSetup was easy, and the game ran well. There are 2 CDs, which have to be swapped around a LOT, as the high school is on one, and the rest of the town buildings are on the other. The graphics are beautiful, and reflect teen icons. The interface is simple, and easy to navigate.The clues and speech are all written, as well as being spoken. Report and Conclusions:Nancy Drew fans or not, this is a great game for teens! The story is intriguing, the puzzles are hard, and there are many clues to sift through, as not all clues are relevant to the murder. There are many hours of enjoyment here, as it will take a long while to work through this game.This is the best program I've seen to date for this age group. There just aren't very many choices for young teens in computer games, unlike the enormous amount for young children and adults. Parents do need to be aware that this game is best for ages 12-up, as there is not only the fact of the murder to consider, but clues that hint of steroid abuse, anger causes, and other themes that may not be wholly appropriate for young children. Don't let the title fool you, this is not a "girl game". Either gender will have a blast playing the famous sleuth, as she tracks down the killer. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
