RaymanReviewed by Anise HollingsheadPublished by Ubisoft Platform: Game Boy Color ESRB Rating: E - Everyone
Visually, this is one of the better GBC games available. Cartoon-like characters and backgrounds make this a very bright and colorful game (although not quite as bright and colorful as portrayed on official screenshots). The gameplay itself is a lot of fun, with tons of power ups and things to pick up. A typical platformer, Rayman must thoroughly investigate every nook and cranny of each level, sometimes certain parts are not accessible until after a power up has been found. Rayman has all sorts of cool moves, my favorite being the helicopter one! The gameplay is in a mid-range of difficulty, not because of bosses, but primarily because of difficulty in figuring out how to progress through the game. Younger children may need some help, older ones should have no problems. Rayman is charming as ever! Solid gameplay will offer hours of fun, and the different worlds with their wonderful graphics add to the enjoyment. My 10-year-old daughter loves Rayman, even though she's having to ask for help on certain levels (but she just recently became interested in this type of game, so is not experienced). A great choice for a family game, and one that will last a long time. | |||||||||||||||||||||
