Rocket Power: Gettin' AirReviewed by Hilary WilliamsonPublished by THQ Platform: Game Boy Color ESRB Rating: E - Everyone
Results can be read in the Zine. Each activity involves following a trail, avoiding obstacles like rocks, trash and buoys, performing simple tricks and jumps, and collecting coins. Trick controls are fairly easy, involving a combination of Jump (A/B buttons) and directional controls. A certain number of points is needed to pass each level. Passing wins a picture password, which can be loaded to start again at that level. This game was too easy for my sons (11 and 12). They found the levels short and the sports (aside from backgrounds) very similar, with only a single path through them. I expect that younger kids (6-8) would enjoy the game, as well as those a little older who like their arcade play simple to control. Overall I recommend Gettin' Air for younger fans of biking, boarding, blading and Rocket Power - there's not enough challenge in it for the older crowd. | |||||||||||||||||||||
