Smurf RacerReviewed by Cindy CaldwellPublished by Infogrames Platform: PlayStation ESRB Rating: E - Everyone
To start racing choose the level of difficulty (easy/expert), which type of race mode, a character and a racetrack. Each smuf has its own vehicle to match its personality and special objects to use during the race. They are placed strategically along the race route - look for them, head directly for them and run them over. These objects can be used to slow down the other racers, help your player speed up and or give you other powers. Be careful for every power up you have, your opponent has an arsenal of their own. My oldest son (18) watched this show everyday when he was younger and was delighted when we received the game to review. The youngest (8) saw the cute little characters, and even though he did not now know who they were was still interested in playing the game. Much to my delight the two sat down together and played. Two different age groups enjoying the same game, I guess an "E" rating is exactly what this game should be. Note: There is a glitch in the game in the two-player mode. Along one of the racetracks a car can go off track and disappear into oblivion, which is very frustrating to the player with the lost car. The only way to get it back was to let the other player finish the race. | |||||||||||||||||||||
