Spyro: Year of the Dragon

He's B-A-A-A-A-A-A-ACK! The third in the Spyro series, Year of the Dragon is similar to the first two adventures. In this installment, the dragons' eggs have been stolen and Spyro needs your help getting them back. He teams up with Spark the dragonfly to begin the long journey. Besides powerups such as superspeed and flight, Spyro doesn't mind the water this time. The graphics are as incredible as in the first two titles, the gameplay is much the same (along with the same frustrations) but the music isn't quite as good - it's somehow missing the spirited rambunctiousness of the first soundtrack.

As Spyro finds dragon eggs, they hatch - and baby dragons are soooo cute! They then disappear back to be with the other dragons. You'll see some new characters and recognize an old one too.

One new feature in this game is that Spyro can become different characters, which breaks up the monotony. Sheila is a kangaroo, and Sgt. Byrd is a penguin who can fly! There are lots of mini-games, too. You haven't lived until you've played at being a dragon on a skateboard! :)

All in all, we've had a blast with Spyro: Year of the Dragon and I expect to get back to it as soon as this case of gamer's thumb settles down!
