Lex Luther has kidnapped Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen and trapped them in a virtual reality Metropolis. It's up to Superman to go in and save them. Can he do it? Probably not. Unfortunately, this Superman is not very super.

Why not, you ask? Well, aside from the poor graphics and disappointing music (not the animated series theme song, as my sons quickly pointed out), the game is just too difficult to play. In the practice area my 9-year-old found the man of steel to be very difficult to maneuver. When he went into the game (in Normal Mode, the default setting) he found that he had to fly through rings to accomplish the first mission. In a very short time, he was frustrated and ready to give up. I soon discovered Easy Mode and switched it over. The rings disappeared, giving him a compass to follow instead. Easier, but, he could never complete the next part of the mission - lifting a car to save a pedestrian from being hit. My son gave up, never to return. When my husband and I tried the game, we found it just as difficult.

My final word on this title - Frustrating, yes. Fun, no.
