Um Jammer Lammy

At first glance, it would appear that Um Jammer Lammy is a music program for the Playstation with no real games. Getting into the gameplay, though, shows an entirely different story. There is a story line that progresses as you help Lammy play her guitar through each level (much tougher than it sounds!) We were getting nowhere and finally set the level to Easy.

On the Easy level, you're matching the rhythms shown on the screen - at the right time! We did try playing the Normal level, but on that one you have to match the same buttons as the ones shown on the screen at the correct time, which was frustrating.

The characters look like they were cut out of magazines and look flat but it's done on purpose, and somehow fits into the retro look and feel of the title. The music isn't great and will likely get a bit monotonous after a time of hearing the same song over and over but that's good motivation to get it right and go on to the next level.

Overall, we enjoyed playing Um Jammer Lammy and watching as the adventure unfolded.
