Description:

The Berenstain Bears encounter some beary scary situations! But, through four short stories and activities the little bears discover that things aren't as scary as they seem. When Little Bears Are Scaredy Bears software is organized around short stories very similar to the well-known paperback series. Mama, Papa, Brother, and Sister bear gently help children explore some childhood fears and learn that there's no need to be scared when fears are confronted. Kids will enjoy hours of fun with the charming and funny family, all while learning one of life's little lessons.

Features:

  • 4 story-related activities include a thinking puzzle and an arcade-style game
  • Promotes teamwork with two-player option
  • Each member of the family has different activity
  • After completion of each activity, your child receives a certificate to print out
  • Three different levels (Easy, Medium & Hard). You can change the level at anytime
  • Very easy printing! Just click the printer icon and that's all!

Technical Aspects:

This was a very easy installation for us! You just put the CD in and wait for the pop up and a few clicks later, this game is installed! What is even better is that once you've installed it, all you have to do in the future is to just put the CD in the CD-ROM. This is great for my child - she can start up her own games.

Report and Conclusions:

My seven year old (she just turned 7 last week) really wanted to play this game since the Berenstain Bears are favorites of hers. She liked everything except the "Hear a Sound" activity that comes up when you select Papa Bear. The object is to listen to "scary sounds at night" and try to find out which area of the map that sound is coming from. The one that came up for my daughter sounded like a broken windshield wiper screeching against a glass window. The more she tried to click to exit, the more it screeched - it was VERY annoying to her and she was so irritated she won't go back into that area.

She did like making Halloween masks with mother bear and guessing shadows with brother bear, so there are some very good points to this game. I would suggest this game to anyone that has kids scared of the dark and such. This game offers them the opportunity to play in a friendly environment with things that otherwise might scare them.

After completing the game, my daughter was THRILLED to see a certificate that was signed by all the bear family members ready to be printed out. In fact, she took this certificate to school to show everyone. When I asked her direct opinion of this game, she said "I want to play it again tomorrow". There you go folks - can't get any better than that!
