A Bug's Life Action GameReviewed by Sharon MehlPublished by Disney Interactive
Description:
Collect grain to help with the harvest (gain points), and rid the ant colony of the evil grasshoppers. Collect different berries to provide your defense against spiders, bees, grasshoppers, and more! It's all in a day of A Bug's Life Action Game. Features:
Technical Aspects:Installation was smooth. However, upon viewing movie clips, there was a problem with the program continually switching back and forth to the desktop. A quick trip was made to the Disney/Pixar's A Bug's Life Action Game web site. I found an update ready to download that would fix this and a few other problems. The update installs quickly. The link to this update is: http://disney.go.com/DisneyInteractive/bugsag/update.html The program flows pretty well considering the 3D animation. The animation is not as clear and defined as I expected based on the graphics displayed on the box, but would probably be better with a faster processor speed (P200 and up would be best). There are a few changes in keyboard commands from the manual, but are corrected in the help file located on the CD. Report and Conclusions:My 10-year-old son gives this 3D action game "5 thumbs up"! He really liked Flik's comments when shooting his enemies, such as "oooh that's going to leave a stain" or "bye bye buggy!" He states that he likes this game better than he liked the movie! Our recommendation is that the first thing you should do is to take that Ant Training Class they offer. You will learn how to move around, collect grain and berries, jump on mushrooms, destroy enemies and more! Although the graphics were not as bright and precise as I imagined they would be...the children are having a good time playing this game...and that's what counts! Even though I don't care for creepy crawly things, this game didn't 'bug' me a bit! | ||||||||||||||||||||||
