Description: Catz II is a wonderful and entertaining program. It comes with five
breeds and 19 toys, along with a variety of wallpapers for the
background. In the Adoption Center, you try out the different breeds.
After you find one you like, you can "adopt" it and give it a name. You
make a promise to take care of and play with your new kitty, and in
return it will love you and grow from a little kitten to an adult. You
can only have 12 toys on the Supply Shelf at one time, but you need only
to open the Toybox to change which ones are on the shelf. There are two
cute little mice that live in the shelves and come out to annoy your
cat. You can pet and pick up your cat, along with brushing, playing
fetch, and feeding. One of the new things different from Catz 1 is that
you can have two animals out at the same time. They play with each other
and fight (just like real cats). If you have both Catz II and Dogz II
installed, you can have a dog and cat out together (just imagine the
fights!). PF Magic also has a photo gallery on their website of petz
pictures, and you can upload those you take and they will post them.
Features:
- Allows you to take pictures of you Catz
- Has a built in screen saver which uses the pictures you take or lets
your adopted catz run around the screen
- The Supply Shelf holds 12 items, which can be easily changed
- Play with your catz in the Playpen or out on your computer's desktop
- New stuff to download each month at PF Magic's website
- With the paint can toy, you can change the color of your cat (the cat
has about 8 body sections that can be colored seperately-tail, feet,
legs, chest and back, hind end, face, ears, muzzle)
Technical Aspects:
There were no problems installing or running this
program. It can be set up to play in the background while you are using
other programs, but uses so much memory that this slows down any other
program quite a bit.
Report and Conclusions:
This is a well-done program that is worth the money. It is not a game,
but a virtual pet (that is so much cuter than those Giga-pets all the
kids are carrying around these days). It will definitely keep children
and adults entertained for some time. PF Magic comes out with new
breeds, toys, and wallpapers each month for you to download and install.
Overall, this program is great!
