Learning Center Series 3rd GradeReviewed by Donna CalvertPublished by Knowledge Adventure
Description:
One of the activities in the main hall is Hall of The Wild, where the kids can play Ants in the Plants, which is a place value game and Monkey Diver, where if you master the correct tense of a verb you can pick what dives the monkey will take from the tree. Another activity location to visit is the Hall of Machines with Robomatic, which features addition, subtraction, multiplication and division and also the Dunkolator, a story building game. The Hall of Small Worlds offers Busy Bee, a congruent and fraction game and the Fly Catchers, a spelling game. For every skill the children master they get a token that can be spent to run a vacuum through a maze. The object is to try not to eat any sand worms with the vacuum. Features:
Technical Aspects:The program installed easily and the mouse works great with this program. Only experienced one problem: the introduction wasn't audible. But the rest of the program ran just fine.Report and Conclusions:The kids will enjoy playing with this program. It practices everything they need for the third grade and it's great for review before tests. My kids use it every Thursday before their tests and it has increased their grades a full letter grade! They like to run the mazes in the engine room and say it's like going to the arcade. This is also handy for us adults who try to help the kids with their homework, look at the paper and go, "huh?" This will help us understand what the kids are learning and what they are supposed to get from each lesson. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
