This software package gives the learner an opportunity to explore all aspects of the earth from weather to the core. There are 5 different activities. The Adventures of Dirk Drip, P. I. teaches a lesson about water pollution as well as how the water cycle works. Storm Rider requires the learner to navigate a ship through stormy waters. The World Builder Activity lets the learner design a world of their own with deserts, mountains, grasslands, and trees. The Ring of Fire tells the learner about the world's volcanoes. Then finally, my favorite, the Rock Lab allows the learner to create rocks following recipes provided in the scrapbook.

Technical Aspects:

This game was easy to install. I just popped the CD in and the installation program came up on the screen. The only problem I have run into with VTech software programs is that they lock up my computer. I have been able to just reboot the system and start the game over when this happens. It seems to like to hog the system, and you may want to close out all other programs before opening this software up.

Report and Conclusions:

This is a great way to learn about the earth. I really enjoyed this program's approach to teaching the Water Cycle and how Rocks are made. I would recommend this to anyone who has a child interested in learning more about the earth and how it was made.
