Friendly Forest Reading Club was created by educators as a comprehensive reading and writing program for children. Reading Club 1 focuses on reading readiness, introducing the pre-reader to the alphabet and primary reading and writing skills. Reading Club 2 (Initial Reading and Writing), teaches the basics of phonics as well as initial reading skills - from word recognition to the reading of simple stories.

Notes:

This program is on two CD-ROMS, is easy to use, and kids have fun working through the steps! The Parent's Guide is excellent and suggests Do's and Don't for Parents. The characters are colorful and friendly, not overly chatty.

Over 120 hours of activities and lessons, games, stories and poems, video clips, five workbooks, twelve storybooks, resource activities, and a Parent's menu for tracking the child's progress. Also, the Friendly Forest Internet Service offers a Reading Advisor, to review a child's progress and give parents expert feedback, assessing skills, strengths and weaknesses.
