Once each word is completed, students can go on to the next word, or review past words. Quizzes and word lists are available on the CD. Features:
Technical Aspects:Installation was simple but did take awhile, possibly because of the word lists. The program is colorful and engaging, but not animated - this is clearly an educational product. Hearing impaired users can use with ease, as the content is text-based, not spoken.Report and Conclusions:This is a wonderful way to enrich vocabulary naturally! Reading is always the best way, and this program is based on reading about each word to understand the meaning. I especially like the use of analogies. As with most school-based software, the price is high for home use, but I believe that homes with multiple users can benefit from this program. I plan on using this program with my 10th grade daughter to supplement her language arts curriculum.A very nice vocabulary program for older students in a largely empty field of language programs for high school kids, and one that uses analogies similar to the ones used on the PSAT/SAT tests. I recommend it to schools, and either homes with multiple users or homeschool co-ops. An online version is also available through BigChalk.com which has a higher number of target words. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
