Description:

Glub the Sub by The Worm that Turned is an early learning piece which helps children learn and develop confidence with letters, numbers, puzzles, colors, as well as assistance with mouse work. There are 4 areas to go to as well as sub areas in each. The child can work in ABC, 123, Puzzles and Stories. There are many levels of difficulty in the puzzle area so that the children can continue at their own skill level.

Features:

  • Supports several areas of learning
  • Option to print
  • Cute, likeable Glub the Sub

Technical Aspects:

The software does not need to be installed, it will run from the CD by going through My Computer and double clicking on the drive. There were no problems on my AMD400 system or Pentium 233, but cautions are mentioned in the documentation for running this on a system with minimum requirements.

Report and Conclusions:

A pet peeve I had about this game was the lack of highlighting of the text as it is read in the storytelling area. Regardless, my 4 year old and his buddy liked this game because they are really keen on submarines, and because it was simple and uncomplicated to play and understand. I found it to be cute, but just another character plugged into the standard abc-123 kind of software. The included activities look like fun including craft and recipe suggestions.
