Description: Pac-Man Adventures in Time will take baby boomers back in time as our old friend the pellet-and-dot-munching, little round yellow guy comes back in 3D. Not a baby boomer? Not familiar with Pac-Man? Well, we have a game for you!
Pac-Man (the little round yellow guy)is back with 45 levels in 5 different worlds. The ghosts, Pac-Man's enemies, have stolen Pac-Man's magical power pills and scattered them throughout the worlds. The worlds range from an Egyptian theme (with even the ghosts dressed in appropriate attire) to a Wild West theme.
Features:
- Familiar Pac-Man character now in 3D
- Familiar ghosts (enemies)
- 45 Levels
- 5 Different worlds
- Familiar music from original game
- Video Arcade Game Layout
- Hidden games
- Pac-Man can jump!
- No quarters needed
Technical Aspects:
No problem with installation and the program ran smoothly.
Report and Conclusions:
The music brings back memories of the old "quarter a play" sit-down consoles. The difference now is that once you pay the price for the software, you're saving big money! The graphics are in 3D and the color is great! The addition of the new worlds, hazards, 16 playable sub-levels with hidden games, and the ability for Pac-Man to jump makes this game a new version worth playing. The ability for Pac-Man to jump appears to have become a necessity as boulders come rolling down from the side of the hill. New enemies include alligators emerging from swamps and cobras waiting to strike at the next turn.
Although several ages played this game, we found that our 3rd grade friend had the most luck and skill at this game. He got further into the levels and could handle the jumping, maneuvering, and still seemed sane after multiple levels were conquered. We would recommend this game for ages 8 and up, and also the use of a joystick may aid in the maneuverability in the mazes.
