  • Narration is quite well done.

Technical Aspects:

This program runs directly from the CD-ROM, with no audio or video choppiness noted. The graphics are done in the style of Beatrix Potter's original art.

Report and Conclusions:

This is not a Living Book, so if you're expecting music, games, etc., you'll be sorely disappointed. But if you're looking for a "virtual book," the stories are nicely presented and kids will enjoy hearing them. It could be used in a home or classroom setting; the number of stories may make up for any small flaws in the title.

So what are the small flaws? Using the hard drive to store setup files would be nice - so that it could be set up into Windows menus. The narration could be smoother, and the hot spot to click to turn the page is not always responsive. These are not big problems, though, and there is so much in the way of content that it's still an excellent value.
