Description:

Rotten Ralph Big Night In! by the BBC is designed to be played by children ages 6-10. Kids can take part in Bongo Bob's Game Show, access Great Rotten Moments, check out Rotten Interludes, or visit Salvador Ralphi. Each area is accessible from the Main Menu.

Bongo Bob's Game Show - A one or two player game, hosted by Bongo Bob and starring the forever Rotten Ralph! Choose a contestant to represent you and go up against Rotten Ralph in a quest for the Golden Banana. If you can beat Ralph in a variety of games you will advance on the Game Show Screen and hopefully make it to the Golden Banana before Ralph does. Watch out, if Ralph catches you, you'll get slimed.

To maneuver your contestant you'll need to use letter keys. One player mode uses letters Q,W,A and S. A second player will manipulate letters I,O,K and L. Manipulating these letters quickly and accurately will allow you to move your contestant left, right, up, down, fire slime balls at Ralph, and pedal your bike when needed.

There are four games within Bongo Bob's Game Show: The Quiz tests your knowledge of Rotten Ralph, Sink or Swim is a guessing game of which object will head for the bottom or stay a float, the Slime Game has you moving left and right and trying to slime Ralph before he slimes you, and the Bike Game is a race to the finish line!but watch out, Ralph likes to cheat.

Great Rotten Moments - Play clips and view classic moments from the Rotten Ralph TV Show.

Rotten Interludes - Three really rotten screen savers you can preview and install with a click of your mouse.

Paint, write and customize size of lettering, draw with pencil, create shapes, fill your canvas with color, paste pictures to the canvas, erase what you don't like, undo and redo options, lots of color choices, store and save pictures, print, colored background images and outline pictures to choose from.

Report and Conclusions:

Rotten Ralph Big Night In! was an instant hit with my six-year-old son. It took a few times to master the letter manipulation required to move his competitor rather than using arrows. On the other hand, Dad and I were not so impressed. But, we've never seen the TV show, either...perhaps if we had a better understanding of Ralph, and his Rotten ways, we'd feel differently towards him and the game.

As parents, we found Ralph to be rude and not the best example on an impressionable six-year-old. After playing, our son was disrespectful and wound up. Perhaps an eight-year-old would be better able to understand that Ralph's language and actions are for the computer only.

If you are a Rotten Ralph fan, I'm sure you'll love Rotten Ralph Big Night In!; if you're like me, and have never seen the show, perhaps viewing it first would give you a better idea of whether or not you want to purchase the game.
