Description:

This program is on the shelves in time for Christmas gift giving, offering three activities to play with kids. It's based on Rudolph's Magical Sleigh Ride, a newly released movie featuring that always popular, glowing kind of reindeer, Rudolph. What there is of this program is very nicely done, but we wanted more!

Features:

  • Two arcade games.
  • Rudolph! Santa!
  • Print Shop for post cards and pictures - lots of stamps/stickers there.

Technical Aspects:

Unless you have problems with DirectX, you probably won't have a hassle here. The program's animation is beautifully done - if you watch closely during the 'Santa's Little Helper' game, when the penguin hits the elf with a snow ball, his face turns into a snow man! The kids loved that. The music adds to the fun but there are only three tracks. The boxing for this product is breathtakingly beautiful and includes information and screenshots for the product. Rudolph's nose even lights up on the front of the box! Outstanding artwork is evident throughout the program.

Report and Conclusions:

The rest of the review staff never even got a chance at this title - my 5 year old installed it herself and ran it before I realized the box was open! They had a blast helping the elf catch the presents to fill up Santa's sleigh, and flying over cities to throw out presents was fun too. And they spent quite a bit of time giggling and making pictures to print out and color. By the time they had finished it, we were all beginning to feel the wonder of the holiday season.
