Description:

Cartoon Network Scooby-Doo! Showdown in Ghost Town is a howling good time. It's as if you've stepped into the popular mystery adventure cartoon, only you are in control of the situation. This role-playing game has a number of puzzles to solve and some arcade-type games (our favorite is the pie-throwing contest!) Careful, though - true to character, Scooby-Doo and Shaggy will not enter some areas unless you offer them treats.

Features:

  • The mystery changes each time you play.
  • Three levels of difficulty.
  • Promotes problem-solving and thinking skills.
  • Familiar, beloved characters with the original voices.

    Technical Aspects:

This program installed quickly and posed no problems during run-time; no choppiness or problems during playback of the video sequences either. The graphics are incredible and the enhanced audio makes this quite an immersive experience. The packaging of this program is an excellent representation of the actual program.

    Report and Conclusions:

Zoinks! Scooby and the kids need your help to find out who's posing as the Faceless Horseman. If you're going to unmask him, you'll need to stay alert, pick up items that you may need along the way and for goodness' sake, please don't run out of Scooby snacks!

We've had a great time with this game. The difficulty levels certainly add to the value, as your kids will be able to use it longer. However, we found that finding all the clues, hidden tunnels, etc., did take some time - around 2.5 hours for us the first time through. Subsequent games went much faster.

If you have a Scooby fan at your house, they'll really enjoy playing Cartoon NetworkScooby-Doo! Showdown in Ghost Town. In fact, it's pretty easy to tell that the scrupulous attention to detail by the staff at The Learning Company means that there are numerous fans of the show there, too! The craftsmanship truly is spectacular, and this title raises the bar for animated characters starring in software programs.
