At first glance, Stories and More: Talking Walls is nothing more than two books on CD-ROM. But there's an inconspiculous 'More Info' button at the bottom of some of the pages, and if you don't click that, you'll be missing what makes this program a unique teaching tool.

I'll confess that I'd never given a great deal of thought to the role of walls in civilization and various cultures. But consider that walls have been an important means of communication throughout history, and you'll soon realize that even the Internet is a type of wall, a way of letting the world know that we ARE.

Technical Aspects:

The program uses MS Internet Explorer or Navigator, and the Internet website connections are nearly seamless. We had no problems with running or installing Stories and More: Talking Walls and enjoyed the videos and photos, as well as the stories and illustrations.

Report and Conclusions:

This CD-ROM is a must-have for any K-6 classroom, anywhere. The content is fascinating, well presented, and relevant to understanding cultures, including our own. We were amazed at the amount of information presented, and I'm looking forward to using this with my own kids. This title contains an amazing amount of information on a single CD-ROM, and while based on the books _Talking Walls_ and _Talking Walls: The Stories Continue_, this program greatly expands, enhances and makes children curious to learn more.
