Teletubbies Favourite Games (UK Version)Reviewed by Kate GlanvillePublished by BBC

Technical Aspects:Although I found no bugs with the game, I did think that the graphics were a little blocky and, because of this, some of the details are lost. The game seems well thought out and implemented apart from this and it's a shame that something such as graphics can let it down. The sound, however, is great. The Teletubby and narrator voices sound exactly as they do in the show, and the buttons and interactive elements in the game all have good noises to go with them
Report and Conclusions:In the previous Teletubbies game - Play With The Teletubbies - the activities were linked by controlling where one of the characters went. This allowed the player to move round Tellytubby land and choose the activities they wanted to play. In Teletubbies Favourite Games, the layout is different. Here you have a main screen with the five activities represented and no wandering around. I think that this shortens the gameplay time and loses the introductory element to the game. However, the activities are fun and different to the last game - so there's no chance of repeating activities if you buy both games. My favourite activity was Making Tubby Custard, which can result in a huge mess (as the emphasis is on free play, you can pour the custard before placing the bowl in the right spot) or the happy result of four Teletubbies with lots to eat. Teletubbies games will have an audience as long as the TV programme is popular. It's nice to be able to interact with characters such as this, and the interaction implemented by the BBC is great. You can control the movement of the Teletubbies and help them to find their favourite toys, make them laugh (by making a mess with the Tubby Custard) and decide what exercises they should do next. And for fans of the show, this simple idea of interacting with the characters has got to be worth it. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
